“Casa Mia” rural house in Monteforte Cilento

In Monteforte Cilento, a small village of medieval origin overlooking the Oasis of the Alento River, the architect Maria Giordano, originally from this place, personally carried out a careful conservative restoration of an ancient peasant house built in stone, with the intent to leave the atmospheres of the past intact.

Maria has taken care of every corner to the smallest detail and wanted the furnishings to be rigorously composed of old furniture belonging to her grandparents or, where not possible, recovered from the local artisan tradition.

Casa Mia offers 2 rooms and an independent apartment with services and private entrance, usable all year round. In fact, in addition to the equipped kitchen, TV and wood-burning fireplace, Casa Mia is equipped with a heater powered by a pellet stove.

A nice curiosity is that Maria, for the rooms, kept the names of the original rooms, so we have “Inda lu’furno” (inside the oven), “Inda lu’vuttaro” (inside the cellar) and “Inda lu’uppigno”(Inside the attic, the attic).

The beauty of the place, the cordiality of Maria and her family offer the opportunity to live as if suspended in time, between the beauty of nature and the suggestion of the ancient atmosphere of the environments.

The Casa Mia Rural House in Monteforte Cilento offers a simple vacation, in a cool and peaceful place where you can taste the typical products and organize walks and excursions in the Cilento villages, in the wonderful Cilento coast, in the secular woods or through the breathtaking landscapes of Fiume Calore or it is possible to participate in the olive harvest in the autumn to share the effort and produce, together with the locals, the extra virgin olive oil typical of this land.
